I took on this painting project with the intention of creating a painting similar to Francisco Clemente’s beautiful “The Red Skirt” work of art.
A print from Spain has hung in our house for very many years. I was inspired to not only attempt a painting in that style, color, composition, but find more about this great artist.

Francisco Rodriguez Sanchez Clemente

This contemporary Spanish artist, unable to find sufficient encouragement in his own country, decided to go to Paris to seek fame and fortune. There, among other artists, he felt greater freedom and continued to follow his love of figure painting. His remarkable sense of colour gives strength to his vigorous style of drawing. Most of his pictures portray the wild rhythm of Flamenco dances or conjure up the excitement of the bullfight, and in every subject he illustrates pulsating life. He has become well known in many countries and his works have enriched many collections.

My Three Cats

I took on this painting late February 2023 as a birthday present. The final oil painting was finished September 2nd, and delivered October 13th, 2023.
The 16"x20" oil on canvas board was based on a photograph which only had Ella and Harley. I added in Milo so all three were together.

The stars of the painting are from Left to right:
Ella (Beans), Milo, and Harle.
